Community Partners
Warming Up The Homeless work with a selection of other charities and agencies within the local community
Homelessness and rough sleeper charities in Eastbourne are working together to raise awareness of the best ways to help those in need.
The message is clear: giving money to people on the street can do more harm than good. It might feel like the kindest thing to do at the time, but in many cases, it actually keeps people on the street.
To really make a positive difference, please consider donating to a local homelessness charity. This way you can be confident that anything you give will be used to improve the lives and opportunities of people experiencing homelessness.
By directing donations to registered local charities, you can ensure your generosity funds long-term solutions. This includes everything from food, clothes, hygiene essentials, to safe accommodation and support to rediscover skills and overcome barriers to achieve a more stable lifestyle.

Donations can also be made via the Fresh Start ‘tap board’, located outside The Clock House restaurant on Cornfield Road, Eastbourne.
Anyone with concerns about rough sleepers they believe are unknown to the council, these can be flagged through Streetlink at www.streetlink.org.uk

Community Supporters
Community Supporters works across Rother to support those experiencing social or economic disadvantage by using nature and nature-based activities. By working with the community, we aim to address issues around isolation, mental and physical health, opportunities, youth and more. The organisation has recently been working with Warming Up the Homeless to source extra, or new, funding and to think about their impact on the environment in all aspects of their mission and community support role. This includes supporting the charity to write a comprehensive environmental policy, which will benefit both our local environment and the charity going forward.

Hastings Community Food Network
Hastings Community Food Network is one of 30 regional partnerships in the Feeding Britain movement which aims to prevent hunger and eliminate its root causes. Among Feeding Britain’s programmes to meet immediate need are Healthy Holidays, Pathways From Poverty, Affordable Food Networks, and Fuel Banks. The evidence emerging from those programmes, on the root causes behind this need, has enabled Feeding Britain to develop workable policy recommendations which, over the past three years, have yielded an additional £2.5 billion in anti-poverty commitments from the Government.

From musculoskeletal conditions ,skin pathologies, infections affecting the feet to corns/callous and painful problems that make walking and standing uncomfortably. Anybody can have difficulties with their feet at anytime, but if you are vulnerable, unable to care for yourself and are not able to wash daily and pop on clean socks and comfy shoes ….. feet can be the start of a chain reaction of medical problems for our homeless friends , which is why I volunteer to help WUTH.
